The Forest Floor: Lupine

Close Up View

The remains of a burned tree stump of scrunched and appliquéd fabrics is nestled amongst a mass of blooming lupine. The lupine and grass leaves sprouting from a hand painted cotton forest floor fabric are fused and raw edge appliquéd. The fused and appliquéd flower blooms of hand painted China silk have a luminescence that draw the eye to examine all the detail. Minimal outline quilting allows the flowers to remain the focal points. Machine appliquéd, pieced and quilted.
